Chase d’Arnaud among 10 cuts

The Pirates optioned Chase d’Arnaud, Jeff Locke, Rudy Owens, and Duke Welker. Robbie Grossman, Tony Sanchez, Anderson Hernandez, Ramon Cabrera, Michael Crotta, and Logan Kensing were all assigned to minor league camp, as well. There really aren’t any surprises here other than d’Arnaud. Based on who is in camp, d’Arnaud was definitely a long shot

Pirates win arbitration case against Jones; agree with McGehee

Garrett Jones and the Pirates went to arbitration yesterday to determine if he would make $2.25 million or $2.5 million this season. Today, arbitration was ruled in favor of the Pirates and Jones will make $2.25 million. It’s pretty amazing that they couldn’t settle with the two sides being so close, but hey, I guess
