Here’s my ballot for the BBA’s Stan Musial Award for the National League. The Stan Musial Award annually goes to the league’s best player. 1) Matt Kemp, OF, Dodgers – Kemp led the National League in WAR with an outstanding 8.7 and was .013 points away in batting average from winning the Triple Crown. 2)

Here’s my ballot for the BBA’s Walter Johnson Award for the National League. The Walter Johnson Award goes annually to the league’s best pitcher. 1) Roy Halladay, Phillies – This one is pretty easy. Jose Tabata extension potentially huge value for Pirates
Yesterday when word first broke out that the Pirates were close to a deal that would extend OF Jose Tabata through his team control years, I felt a little skeptical. Jose Tabata had a very good rookie season for the Pirates as he posted a 2.1 WAR over 102 games at the age of 21.
