Meek, who is now 29 years old, is just two seasons removed from an All-Star appearance. However, arm injuries have weakened his effectiveness and velocity. He pitched just 12 innings in the Majors this season and posted an 8:6 K:BB ratio along with a 6.75 ERA. In Triple A-Indianapolis, Meek was a bit better with a 2.74 ERA in 46 innings with a 41:26 K:BB rate.
Sutton, 29, had quite an odd season. He started the year in Triple A with in the Braves organization. On May 20th, he was traded to the Pirates for cash. The next day, though, the Pirates sent him to Tampa Bay for cash. He was then designated for assignment and claimed off waivers by Pirates on June 24th. After playing in 24 games, he was designated for assignment and outrighted to Indianapolis to finish the season.
