Waiver Wire: Daniel Moskos claimed by White Sox; Doug Slaten and Chris Leroux pass through

#WhiteSox have claimed LHP Daniel Moskos off waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates and optioned him to Class AAA Charlotte.

Daniel Moskos almost made it all the way through waivers, after the club designated him for assignment last week when Eric Fryer was promoted, but got scooped up by the White Sox. By my calculations, it means all but three teams passed on him. Moskos was the club’s 2007 1st round pick and had a 3.86 ERA with an 11:8 K:BB ratio.

Chris Leroux and Doug Slaten have each cleared waivers and have been outrighted to Indianapolis.

Doug Slaten was designated for assignment when the Bucs claimed Oscar Tejeda. He has cleared waivers and will head back to Triple-A Indianapolis. Slaten posted a 2.77 ERA over 13 innings with the Pirates this year and a stellar 0.36 ERA for Indy.

Leroux, who was on the 60-day disabled list since Opening Day, looks like he has also been designated for assignment and has cleared waivers. During his rehab, he had a 3.77 ERA over 14 1/3 innings with a 10:6 K:BB ratio.
