Final: Pirates 13, Giants 2
Man, what an amazing way to cap off the first half of the season. Outside of Casey McGehee‘s groin injury, this was as good a game as you can see.
A.J. Burnett rolled through six innings giving up just two hits. He gave up a two-run homer in the seventh before exiting, but the game was already well out of reach by that point. Brad Lincoln came on to finish things off with 2 2/3 perfect innings of relief.
The scoring started in the first inning with a two-run homer by Andrew McCutchen. He would add another two-run homer in the seventh. Then Neil Walker hit a solo homer in the third. Three more runs crossed the plate in the fourth inning and then it just seemed like the Giants gave up and the Pirates scored infinity runs from that point forward.
