7/3 MiLB Recap: Alen Hanson hits 14th HR

Alen Hanson was 1 for 4 with his 14th home run of the season. The only players in the organization with more homers than the 152 pound switch-hitting shortstop are Andrew McCutchen and Pedro Alvarez.

2011 17th round pick Ryan Hafner is still winless on the year (0-6) after allowing two runs on three hits and two walks in 2/3 of an inning. Control has been a big Achilles heel for Hafner this year as he has a 23:48 K:BB ratio over 46 1/3 innings.

Samuel Gonzalez was 2 for 4 with a home run. What was amazing about Gonzalez’ long ball, is that it was the first by a Spikes player all season long. Tonight was their 16th game of the season.

2011 8th round pick Jason Creasy gave up two runs over five innings in his fourth start of the year. He struck out six and walked just one.
