7/12 MiLB Recap: Tim Alderson strikes out 8

Jeff Locke started the first game of a double-header for the Tribe and gave up four runs (two earned) over five innings. He struck out three and walked two.

Jose Tabata was 0 for 3 in the first game and 1 for 3 with a walk in the second game. He scored the game winning run on a walk-off single by Yamaico Navarro in game two after leading off the eighth inning with a walk.

Starling Marte went 1 for 3 in the first game and 0 for 3 with an intentional walk in game two. His hitting streak ended at 15 games.

Tony Sanchez was 1 for 3 in game one as the catcher for the Indians. He was the designated hitter for game two and was 0 for 1 with two walks.

Tim Alderson started and gave up two runs (one earned) in five innings. He struck out eight batters and gave up two walks. In his last two starts, he has struck out 14 batters in 10 2/3 innings.

Jeff Inman pitched two hitless innings of relief. He did allow three walks while striking out one batter. The 2009 12th round pick has a 4.32 ERA and a 17:14 K:BB ratio in 25 innings since being promoted to Double-A.

Robbie Grossman went 2 for 3 with his 20th double of the season and two walks. He’s now reached base in 24 straight games, in which his OBP is over .500.

Tyler Waldron started and gave up two runs over six innings. He struck out three and walked one. The 2010 5th round pick now has a 5.24 ERA with a 61:21 K:BB ratio over 91 innings.

Gift Ngoepe went 3 for 4 with his 8th home run of the season. He hit four combined home runs in his first three seasons as a pro.

Mel Rojas was 3 for 5 with three RBI. The 2010 3rd rounder is hitting .263/.320/.386 in 87 games this year with the Marauders.

Jake Burnette started and gave up three runs over four innings. He gave up four hits and two walks without recording a strikeout.

Barrett Barnes was 0 for 2 with two walks. He also recorded his sixth and seventh stolen bases and has been caught stealing just once this season.

Aneudy Merejo pitched 2 2/3 scoreless innings with three strikeouts. He has a 0.84 ERA in 10 2/3 innings with a 15:0 K:BB ratio.

Harold Ramirez was 2 for 7 with an RBI. He is now hitting .313/.421/.313 in his first 16 at-bats.
