Sutton, Fryer added to active roster; Hague, Slaten optioned

With Eric Fryer joining the active roster, a move to make room for him on the 40-man must also be made. Fryer will be used on an “as needed” bases as Rod Barajas is currently listed as “day-to-day” following a knee injury suffered last night. Fryer was hitting .167/.220/.219 for AAA-Indianapolis. Don’t expect him to be up too long.

Drew Sutton also joins the club after being claimed off waivers from Tampa Bay. In 48 at-bats with the Rays, he hit .271/.314/.354.

Matt Hague has been getting a few pinch-hit chances here and there lately, but it seems like his days of competing for a starting spot are over. He was hitting .235/.278/.265 over 68 at-bats this season.

Doug Slaten will head back to Indianapolis after pitching 13 innings over ten games for the Bucs. He posted a 2.77 ERA and a 6:8 K:BB ratio.
