Six run third inning propels Bucs to 8-2 win over Brewers

Final: Pirates 8, Brewers 2

WP: Kevin Correia (2-5, 4.19 ERA)

LP: Randy Wolf (2-5, 6.05 ERA)

Nyjer Morgan hit a solo home run in the first inning for the Brewers and it looked like tonight was going to just be one of those nights that we dread. But then the third inning happened.

That’s nice.

The Bucs would add two more with a 2-run double by Andrew McCutchen in the eighth inning, but the game was over by that point.

Kevin Correia gave up two home runs, his eight and ninth given up on the season. But they were both solo homers and he did a good job keeping the game out of reach by putting up some zeroes after the first inning.

Somehow, it took five pitchers to record the final ten outs of this game. But Doug Slaten, Jared Hughes, Brad Lincoln, Tony Watson, and Juan Cruz were able to get those outs without allowing a run.
