Pirates agree to terms with 7th rounder Jacob Stallings

Published on June 9, 2012 by in Draft

According to Pirates Prospects, the Pirates have reached a deal with 7th round draft pick, Jacob Stallings.

Stallings is a defensive-oriented catcher who just finished up his senior year at North Carolina. As a Tar Heel, he se the school record for caught stealing percentage his junior season and hit .294/.401/.429 this year.

He is expected to sign on Monday and will start off his pro career at State College. The slot value for his pick was $148,000, but you would have to assume he will sign for far less than that being a college senior.
