This is from yesterday, but now is the first time I can actually get to a computer to say anything about this.

Gerrit Cole, the Pirates’ 1st overall pick from 2011 will make his AA debut in Altoona Wednesday after being promoted from High-A Bradenton.

For the Marauders, Cole was 5-1 with a 2.55 ERA in 13 starts. Over 67 innings, he struck out 69 batters and walked 21.

ESPN’s Keith Law tweeted out following Cole’s last start that he was pumping his fastball as high as 101 mph and his slider was in at 92 mph. So it seems as if his stuff is as good as it has ever been.

Expect Cole to finish off the season with the Curve, which puts him right on track to start 2013 in AAA-Indianapolis and a mid-season promotion if all goes well. So far, you have to like what you see out of him.
