Rochester 2, Indianapolis 0 – Daniel Cabrera gave up 2 runs over 6 1/3 innings. Duke Welker pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings of relief with 3 strikeouts and 3 walks. Bryan Morris pitched a scoreless inning. Starling Marte was 2 for 4. Jose Morales went 1 for 3.
Akron 2, Altoona 1 – Brandon Cumpton started and gave up just 1 run over 6 1/3 innings. He struck out 6 and walked 4. Victor Black pitched 2 scoreless innings of relief. Brock Holt went 2 for 5. Miles Durham and Charles Cutler were both 1 for 3.
Jupiter 13, Bradenton 5 – Gerrit Cole starte and gave up 3 runs in 5 innings. He struck out 6 and didn’t walk a batter. Bases on the final score, it’s safe to just say here that the three relievers in this game didn’t fare too well. Drew Maggi was 1 for 4 with a walk. Carlos Paulino went 3 for 4 with a double. Evan Chambers was 2 for 3 with a walk. Dan Grovatt went 1 for 4 with a triple.
West Virginia 9, Asheville 5 – Robby Rowland gave up 3 runs over 5 innings. He struck out 3 and walked 3. Alen Hanson went 2 for 4 with a double. Kirk Singer was 2 for 5. Willy Garcia went 3 for 5 with a home run, his 8th of the season. Junior Sosa was 2 for 4. Elias Diaz went 1 for 3 with a walk.
