Everyone in action today with a Bradenton double-header.
Indianapolis 8, Pawtucket 6 – Jeff Locke gave up 3 runs in 5 innings. He struck out 7 and walked 3. Daniel Moskos pitched a scoreless inning of relief in his first appearance since coming off the DL. Chase d’Arnaud was 2 for 5 with a stolen base, his 13th. Starling Marte was 1 for 6 with a 2-run single in the 13th inning to put Indy ahead. Yamaico Navarro went 3 for 5 with a walk and a home run, his 1st. Jeff Larish was 1 for 4 with a double and 2 walks. Brandon Boggs went 2 for 5 with a double and a walk.
Akron 8, Altoona 7 – Nathan Baker gave up 2 runs over 5 2/3 innings with 2 strikeouts and a walk. Brock Holt was 2 for 5 with a double. Jarek Cunningham went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk. Ramon Cabrera was 2 for 5 with a double and a home run, his 2nd of the year. Miles Durham was 4 for 4 with a double, a triple, and a walk. Anthony Norman went 1 for 4 with a triple.
Daytona 3, Bradenton 2 – Colton Cain started in his first game in a month just back from injury. He gave up 2 runs over 1 2/3 innings with 3 strikeouts and a walk. Drew Maggi, Mel Rojas, and Justin Howard were all 1 for 3. Stefan Welch went 1 for 2 with a double. Benji Gonzalez was 1 for 2 with a triple.
Bradenton 4, Daytona 3 – Jameson Taillon started and gave up 3 runs over 5 innings. He struck out 6 and didn’t walk a batter. Jason Townsend pitched 2 scoreless innings of relief. Stefan Welch and Alex Dickerson were each 1 for 3. Justin Howard and Evan Chambers both went 1 for 2, each getting a double and a walk.
Asheville 7, West Virginia 6 – Zack Dodson started and gave up 4 runs over 4 1/3 innings. He struck out 3 and walked 3. Ryan Hafner gave up just 1 run over 4 innings of relief, but he did somehow walk 7 batters. Kirk Singer went 3 for 6. Willy Garcia was 3 for 5 with a double. Dan Gamache went 2 for 5 with a triple. Carlos Mesa was 2 for 5. Elias Diaz went 1 for 4 with a double and a walk.
