6/20 MiLB Recap: Gerrit Cole makes AA debut

Everyone but West Virginia in action today.

Indianapolis 10, Gwinnett 2Daniel Cabrera started and gave up 1 run over 5 2/3 innings. Duke Welker and Daniel McCutchen each pitched a scoreless inning of relief. Chris Leroux gave up 1 run over 2/3 of an inning. Gorkys Hernandez was 1 for 3 with 2 walks. Anderson Hernandez went 3 for 6. Jeff Clement was 2 for 5. Yamaico Navarro went 2 for 5 with a double and a triple. Brandon Boggs was 1 for 3 with a double and 2 walks. Jose Morales went 4 for 5 with a double.

Altoona 9, New Britain 4Gerrit Cole started and gave up 2 runs on 5 hits in 5 innings. He struck out 6 and didn’t walk a batter. Nathan Baker pitched 2 scoreless innings. Tim Alderson gave up 2 runs in an inning. Victor Black pitched a scoreless inning. Robbie Grossman was 1 for 3 with a walk and a home run, his 5th of the year. Brock Holt went 1 for 4 with a walk. Jarek Cunningham was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk. Matt Curry went 1 for 2 with a double and a walk. Quincy Latimore was 1 for 4 with a homer, his 7th. Drew Maggi went 1 for 3 with a walk.

St. Lucie 6, Bradenton 2Casey Sadler started and pitched 6 scoreless innings with 6 strikeouts and 3 walks. Carlos Paulino went 1 for 3 with a walk. Justin Howard was 2 for 4. Kirk Singer went 1 for 3 with a walk. Dan Grovatt went 1 for 4 with a double.

Williamsport 13, State College 1Jake Burnette started and gave up 2 runs (1 earned) over 3 innings with 2 strikeouts and 1 walk. Raul Fortunato went 1 for 2 with a triple and a walk. That was the only hit the Spikes would get. Barrett Barnes was 0 for 3 with a sac fly.

GCL Pirates 11, GCL Tigers 4Dovydas Neverauskas started and gave up 2 runs over 3 innings. He struck out 2 and walked 5. Dilson Herrera was 2 for 4 with a walk, a triple, and a home run, his 2nd of the year. Wyatt Mathisen went 3 for 4 with a walk. Jesus Vasquez was 1 for 3 with a walk and a home run, his 1st. Jorge Bishop went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. Gavi Nivar was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles.
