6/19 MiLB Recap: Jameson Taillon bounces back with 7 shutout innings

Everyone but West Virginia in action today.

Indianapolis 2, Gwinnett 1Jeff Locke gave up just 1 run over 6 innings while striking out 8 and not walking a batter. Daniel McCutchen pitched a scoreless inning. Chris Leroux tossed 2/3 scoreless. And Evan Meek pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings. Gorkys Hernandez was 1 for 4 with a double and a walk. Jeff Clement went 1 for 3 with a walk. Brian Friday was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles.

Altoona 8, New Britain 1Jeff Karstens started and gave up just 1 run over 7 innings. He struck out 5 and walked 1. Phil Irwin pitched 2 perfect innings with 3 strikeouts. Robbie Grossman was 2 for 3 with a walk. Brock Holt went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles. Jarek Cunningham was 2 for 4 with a double. Quincy Latimore went 1 for 4 with a triple. Miles Durham was 1 for 4 with a double. Stefan Welch went 2 for 3 with a walk.

Bradenton 7, St. Lucie 0Jameson Taillon pitched 7 scoreless innings giving up just 1 hit. He struck out 5 and walked 3. Mel Rojas went 3 for 4. Justin Howard was 1 for 3 with a walk. Kawika Emsley-Pai went 1 for 2 with 2 walks. Kirk Singer was 1 for 4 with a walk.

State College 5, Williamsport 2Joely Rodriguez started and gave up 2 runs over 4 innings. He struck out 3 and walked 5. Jodaneli Carvajal was 2 for 3 with a triple and a walk. Raul Fortunato went 3 for 4. Jacob Stallings was 1 for 4 with a double. Jared Lakind went 1 for 2 with 2 walks.

GCL Blue Jays 7, GCL Pirates 0 – Tyler Glasnow started and gave up 1 run over 3 2/3 innings. He struck out 4 and didn’t walk a batter. Wyatt Mathisen was 1 for 1 with a walk. Dilson Herrera went 1 for 4. Stetson Allie was 0 for 3 with a strikeout.
