6/18 MiLB Recap: Stetson Allie gets off to hot start as hitter

Openers for both State College and the GCL Pirates today.

Indianapolis 5, Gwinnett 4 – Rick VandenHurk gave up 4 runs over 7 innings. He struck out 5 and didn’t walk a batter. Bryan Morris pitched 2 scoreless innings of relief. Gorkys Hernandez went 2 for 5 with a triple. Starling Marte was 1 for 2 with a walk. Jeff Clement went 1 for 2 with a double and 2 walks. Brandon Boggs was 1 for 4 with a double. Tony Sanchez went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk.

Bradenton 6, St. Lucie 5Colton Cain started and gave up just 1 run over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out 5 and walked 1. Junior Sosa went 2 for 5. Kirk Singer was 2 for 4 with a home run, his 1st for the Marauders. Mel Rojas went 1 for 4 with a triple. Alex Dickerson was 2 for 3 with a walk. Andy Vasquez went 3 for 4 with a double. Carlos Mesa was 2 for 4. Benji Gonzalez went 1 for 3.

Williamsport 6, State College 2Jason Creasy gave up 3 runs (0 earned) in 2 2/3 innings. Joan Montero pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings with 4 strikeouts and a walk. Alex Fuselier was 1 for 4 with a walk. Francisco Aponte went 1 for 3. Jodaneli Carvajal was 2 for 4.

GCL Pirates 13, GCL Blue Jays 3 – Colten Brewer gave up 2 runs in 4 innings. He struck out 3 and didn’t walk a batter. Jackson Lodge gave up 1 run over 3 innings. Elvis Escobar was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk. Dilson Herrera went 1 for 4 with a homer. Wyatt Mathisen was 3 for 5 with a double. Stetson Allie went 2 for 3 with a triple and a walk. Jesus Vasquez was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk. Candon Myles went 2 for 5. Luis Urena was 2 for 5 with 2 doubles. Jorge Bishop went 2 for 5.
