6/16 MiLB Recap: Solid starts by McPherson and ZVR

Everyone in action except Bradenton today, as it is the Florida State League All-Star break.

Charlotte 5, Indianapolis 4Rudy Owens gave up 2 runs over 6 innings. He struck out 4 and walked 2. Daniel Moskos and Duke Welker each pitched a scoreless inning of relief. Gorkys Hernandez was 1 for 4 with a double and a walk. Chase d’Arnaud went 2 for 4 with a double, a walk, and his 17th stolen base. Brandon Boggs was 1 for 5 with a home run, his 5th. Anderson Hernandez went 2 for 5 with a double. Brian Friday was 1 for 4 with a double and a walk.

Altoona 7, Binghampton 1Kyle McPherson made his first start of the season and gave up just 1 run over 5 innings. He struck out 5 and walked 1. Mike Colla pitched 3 scoreless innings of relief and Victor Black pitched a scoreless 9th inning. Brock Holt went 2 for 4 with a walk and a stolen base. Ramon Cabrera was 3 for 5. Jeremy Farrell went 3 for 4 with a home run, his 3rd of the year. Evan Chambers was 2 for 4 with a double and a homer, his first for the Curve.

West Virginia 2, Hagerstown 1Zack Von Rosenberg gave up 1 run over 5 1/3 innings. He struck out 5 and walked 2. Alen Hanson was 1 for 4 with a walk. Gregory Polanco went 3 for 4 with a double and a walk. Chris Lashmet was 2 for 4.
