6/14 MiLB Recap: Gerrit Cole dominant in five scoreless innings

Everyone in action today.

Indianapolis 5, Charlotte 3Jeff Locke started and gave up 2 runs in 5 2/3 innings. He struck out 4 and walked 2. Bryan Morris pitched 3 scoreless innings in relief. Chase d’Arnaud was 1 for 3 with a double. Jeff Clement went 1 for 4 with a double.

Altoona 7, Trenton 6 – The Curve trailed 6-1 in the bottom of the 9th and came back to win. Nathan Baker gave up 6 runs (5 earned) over 4 2/3 innings. Jeff Inman pitched a scoreless inning. Robbie Grossman was 3 for 5 with a double. Brock Holt went 1 for 4 with a double and a walk. Quincy Latimore and Jeremy Farrell were both 1 for 3 with a walk.

Bradenton 6, Fort Myers 0Gerrit Cole started and pitched 5 scoreless innings with 7 strikeouts and 2 walks. Daniel McCutchen pitched 2 scoreless innings in relief in his first rehab outing. Quinton Miller pitched a scoreless 9th inning. Mel Rojas was 1 for 3 with a walk. Alex Dickerson went 2 for 4 with a double. Justin Howard was 2 for 4 with a triple. Andy Vasquez went 1 for 4 with a triple. Dan Grovatt was 1 for 4 with a double.

Hagerstown 8, West Virginia 6Robby Rowland started and gave up 5 runs (2 earned) over 4 innings. He struck out 3 and walked 2. Alen Hanson was 1 for 3 with a walk and a home run, his 10th of the year. Gregory Polanco went 1 for 3 with a homer, his 10th. Willy Garcia was 1 for 4 with a double. Taylor Lewis went 1 for 4 with a home run in his first game of the season.
