6/12 MiLB Recap: Willy Garcia continues to rake in June

Altoona was rained out today.

Indianapolis 2, Rochester 0 – Rick VandenHurk started and pitched 7 scoreless innings with 5 strikeouts and 1 walk. Chris Leroux pitched a scoreless inning of relief. Starling Marte was 1 for 3 with a walk. Jeff Larish went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. Brian Friday was 1 for 1. Those were the only three hits the Indians would get.

Fort Myers 5, Bradenton 3Colton Cain started and gave up 5 runs in 4 innings. He struck out 1 and walked 1. Jason Townsend pitched 3 scoreless innings of relief and Quinton Miller pitched a 1-2-3 inning. Gift Ngoepe was 4 for 5 with a double. Carlos Paulino went 1 for 4 with a double. Dan Grovatt was 3 for 4 with a double.

West Virginia 9, Lexington 7 – Nick Kingham gave up 3 runs over 4 1/3 innings. He struck out 2 and walked 2. Rinku Singh pitched 2 2/3 scoreless innings of relief. Alen Hanson was 2 for 4 with a double and a walk. Kirk Singer went 1 for 3. Willy Garcia was 3 for 4 with a walk and a home run, his 9th of the season. He is hitting .378/.465/.649 this month. Elias Diaz was 2 for 5 with a double. Carlos Mesa went 1 for 3. Francisco Aponte was 2 for 3. Dan Gamache went 1 for 1.
