6/10 MiLB Recap: Rudy Owens with six strong innings

Everyone in action today.

Indianapolis 8, Rochester 1Rudy Owens started and gave up just 1 run over 6 innings. He struck out 3 and walked 1. Chris Leroux pitched a scoreless inning of relief while on rehab. Daniel Moskos also tossed a scoreless inning. Gorkys Hernandez was 3 for 5. Starling Marte went 1 for 4 with a double. Jake Fox was 1 for 3 with a home run, his 2nd of the year. Yamaico Navarro went 1 for 4 with a homer, his 2nd. Brandon Boggs was 2 for 4. Tony Sanchez went 1 for 3. Brian Friday was 1 for 4 with a double.

Akron 7, Altoona 1Shairon Martis gave up 5 runs in 3 2/3 innings. Jeff Inman pitched a scoreless inning of relief. Brock Holt went 1 for 3 with a walk. He was also thrown out of the game (along with Ryan Long, Altoon’s hitting coach) following a called third strike in the 7th inning. Jarek Cunningham was 2 for 4 with a double. Anthony Norman went 2 for 4 with a triple.

Jupiter 11, Bradenton 4Tyler Waldron started and gave up 9 runs (8 earned) in 3 2/3 innings. Jason Townsend pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings of relief. Gift Ngoepe was 2 for 4 with a double and a walk. Andy Vazquez went 2 for 4. Evan Chambers was 0 for 2 with 2 walks.

Asheville 13, West Virginia 3 – Matt Benedict gave up 11 runs (7 earned) in 3 2/3 innings. Alen Hanson was 2 for 5 with a home run, his 9th of the season. Jose Osuna was 1 for 3 with a double. Willy Garcia was 0 for 2 with 2 walks.
