5/24 MiLB Recap: Nick Kingham pitches six shutout innings

Everyone in action today.

Indianapolis 2, Louisville 1Rudy Owens started and gave up just 1 run over 6 innings. He struck out 4 and walked 1. Evan Meek pitched 2 scoreless innings. Doug Slaten pitched 3 scoreless frames to lower his ERA to a minuscule 0.36 on the season. Starling Marte was 2 for 7 with a triple. Alex Presley also went 2 for 7 with a triple. Matt Hague was 2 for 7 and Jose Morales went 3 for 5 with a walk.

Altoona 5, Harrisburg 4Shairon Martis started and gave up 3 runs over 6 innings. Duke Welker pitched a scoreless inning of relief. Jeff Inman gave up 1 run in an inning as he made his AA debut. Victor Black pitched a scoreless 9th. Brock Holt was 2 for 4 with a triple. Quincy Latimore went 1 for 3 with a double.

Bradenton 6, Lakeland 2Tyler Waldron started and gave up 2 runs (1 earned) over 7 innings. He struck out 7 and didn’t walk a batter. Gift Ngoepe was 2 for 3. Drew Maggi went 1 for 2. Mel Rojas had an incredible day going 3 for 3 with a double, triple, and home run, his 2nd of the season. Alex Dickerson and Stefan Welch were both 1 for 3. Dan Grovatt went 1 for 2 with a walk and a home run, his 4th of the year.

Kannapolis 6, West Virginia 5 – Nick Kingham started and pitched 6 scoreless innings striking out 5 batters and walking just 1. Willy Garcia was 2 for 5. Jose Osuna went 2 for 3 with a walk. Alen Hanson was 1 for 4 with a walk.
