5/21 MiLB Recap: Jeff Karstens throws three scoreless innings in rehab start

Indianapolis 8, Buffalo 6Daniel Cabrera started and gave up 3 runs over 6 innings. Doug Slaten pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings of relief and now has a 0.40 ERA. Starling Marte was 2 for 4 with a triple. Alex Presley went 1 for 3 with a walk and a homer, his 1st since being optioned. Jordy Mercer was 2 for 4 with a walk. Anderson Hernandez went 2 for 4.

Altoona 4, Harrisburg 2Jeff Karstens started and pitched 3 scoreless innings. He struck out 1, gave up 2 hits, and didn’t walk a batter. He threw 37 pitches, 25 for strikes. Brock Holt was 2 for 4. Jarek Cunningham went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. Matt Curry was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk. Tony Sanchez went 0 for 2 with 2 walks.

Lakeland 9, Bradenton 8Hunter Strickland started and pitched 5 scoreless innings with 2 strikeouts and a walk. Gift Ngoepe was 1 for 3 with a walk. Justin Howard went 3 for 5 with a double.
