5/20 MiLB Recap: Tim Alderson tosses seven shutout innings

Indianapolis 4, Buffalo 1 – Rick VandenHurk started and gave up 1 run over 5 innings. He struck out 3 and walked 3. Doug Slaten pitched a scoreless inning of relief. Chase d’Arnaud was 1 for 4 with a stolen base. Alex Presley went 1 for 4. Jordy Mercer was 2 for 3 with a walk. Jose Morales went 2 for 4.

Altoona 5, Erie 0Tim Alderson pitched 7 scoreless innings giving up just 2 hits. He struck out 3 and didn’t walk a batter. Tony Sanchez was 1 for 3. Matt Curry went 1 for 3 with a double. Quincy Latimore was 1 for 3 with a home run, his 2nd of the year.

Dunedin 4, Bradenton 1Eliecer Navarro gave up 2 runs over 4 1/3 innings. He struck out 4 and walked 2. Jeff Inman gave up just 1 unearned run over 2 innings. Quinton Miller pitched a scoreless inning of relief. Andy Vasquez was 1 for 4 with a homer, his 1st of the season. Mel Rojas went 2 for 4. Stefan Welch was 1 for 3. Benji Gonzalez went 1 for 2 with a double and a walk.

Greenville 6, West Virginia 5Matt Benedict gave up 2 runs (1 earned) over 6 innings. He struck out 4 and didn’t walk a batter. Alen Hanson was 1 for 5 with a triple. Carlos Mesa and Gregory Polanco were both 1 for 5 with a double. Willy Garcia was 3 for 5. Francisco Aponte was 2 for 4 with a triple.
