Pedro Alvarez exited yesterday’s game due to inflammation in his left knee, says Dejan Kovacevic.

According to reports, the injury does not seem to be very serious and should only sideline Alvarez for a couple games this weekend.

Alvarez has been far from spectacular hitting .133/.156/.333 with two home runs in 30 at-bats this spring. This doesn’t change the fact that Alvarez is still the favorite to break camp as the team’s third baseman, but it definitely doesn’t help him in getting his timing down before the start of the season.
