Rob Biertempfel had some updates on a few of the Pirates’ many injured players today on Twitter:
– Jose Tabata will continue his rehab assignment in AAA-Indianapolis tomorrow. Tabata’s been sidelined since June 26th with a quad injury. Hopefully Tabata is over the injury for good and won’t experience any more setbacks.
– Derrek Lee is out of the starting lineup for the 2nd straight day after being hit in the hand with a pitch on Wednesday. He may, however, be available off the bench if everything goes well in batting practice this afternoon.
– Alex Presley will try to take batting practice tomorrow. If all goes well there, he could begin a rehab assignment shortly.
– Ross Ohlendorf had his 2nd rehab start for Indianapolis last night and 5th rehab start overall. He pitched 6 innings and gave up 3 runs (2 ER). He struck out 3 and walked 3.
