Cardinals bullpen shuts down Bucs for 4-2 win

St. Louis starter, Mitchell Boggs (1-0, 3.50) was chased from the game early on in the 5th inning after giving up 2 ER and 10 baserunners. However, the Bucs weren't able to capitalize on their chances and were shut out for 4.2 innings by the St Louis bullpen. The team left 9 men on base. The Cardinals left 3.

Pittsburgh starter, Zach Duke (3-3, 2.79) was very average and picked up the loss. He gave up 4 ER over 5.1 innings where he gave up 6 hits and walked 2.

Sean Burnett (0-1, 2.08) ended up pitching 2.1 perfect innings out of the bullpen even though it seemed like every hitter he faced smoked the ball off him.

Albert Pujols (.364, 11, 31) was 4-4 with a solo homer in the 1st inning. The guy is a monster. Every time we see him I don't understand how he can not be hitting like .460.

Delwyn Young (.455, 0, 2), who was getting his first start of the season, went 1-2 with 2 walks and a run scored. I really do want to see more of him.

Nyjer Morgan (.298, 0, 12) had a decent showing at the plate going 2-4 with a walk, a run scored, and an RBI. He also stole a base.

Nate McLouth (.288, 4, 17) recorded his first double of the season. It's a little late, but ok. He's still slugging .450. And speaking of doubles, Freddy Sanchez (.321, 3, 10) hit his 13th of the year, which leads the majors.
